Also shown are Mr Bates original invitation to join the then Swallow Coachbuilding Company in 1934, his SS Cars Ltd pass with its special Fireman’s Permit, and his copy of the company’s Mutual Aid Fund for War Damage Rules and Benefits booklet. It shows him to be a fully paid up member |

An extremely rare original programme for the Annual Swallow Coachbuilding Co (SS) Works outing to Brighton in 1933 Arriving in Brighton at 10:00, the trip included luuch at the Metropole Hotel (by ‘the kind invitation of the Directors’) and they eventually left by train at 23:00, arriving home in Coventry at 03:00! |
